The album presents works mainly from the collection of the church of St Mary Magdalene in Wrocław, about the existence of which we did not know several years ago.
Music collections from a destroyed Wrocław at the end
of World War II, like many other archives, works of art and valuable objects,
were taken by the Red Army to the East. Musical manuscripts went to Moscow, and
from there years later they were transferred to East Berlin. Thanks to the research
of Prof Barbara Przybyszewska-Jarmińska, they were brought back to musical life
only towards the end of the 20th century.
